THE ISLAND VIS
If sometimes things in life seem uncertain, complicated, or appear hard to solve, come to the island of Vis and climb to its highest peak Hum (567 m). Once you reach the church of The Holy Spirit take a deep breath and enjoy the scent of rosemary and the sea along with the gorgeous view. Suddenly, you will realize where Komiza is located and where the town of Vis is; you will become aware of magnificent spots like Podhumlje, Podspilje, Zena Glava, Marine Zemlje. You will take notice of the coves Stiniva, Stoncica, Ruda and Mala Travna and the surrounding islands Bisevo, Jabuka, Budikovac and Svetac... and just like that things will become more clear and the solutions will become evident in a way that they would not have while you where sitting in the corner of your room. At this moment, everything will seem solvable. This outermost island of the Central Dalmatian archipelago was appealing to many in the past, and was occupied and ruled by Greeks, Illyrians, Romans, Venetians, French, Russian, English and the Habsburgs, whom too may have come here to resolve their own dilemmas. But Vis is not only famous for its historical legacy and cultural heritage, but also for its natural beauty, gastronomy and wines.

TOWN OF KOMIZA
Situated in a bay on the west coast of the island of Vis and in the foothills of Mount Hum, Komiza embraces its guests with its Mediterranean soul, tranquility and beauty. This little town, around 850 years old, is one of the most gorgeous, romantic and original ones you can find wandering the Mediterranean. Magnificent old stone houses, narrow streets, churches and towers are the trademarks of Komiza. Many boats, ferries and yachts come to anchor in its harbor, enjoying its scent of citrus… and passed Komiza, there is no more places left to go but a few small islands in the sea.
